Hearing Care Experts You Can Trust
Most people are pretty good about getting their blood pressure and cholesterol checked on a regular basis, and dental and eye checkups are common health priorities as well, but hearing tests are often left off the list of proactive health measures.
Hearing tests are not only the best way to measure hearing loss, but provide the information necessary for our audiologists to customize your hearing care.
Our audiologists at Physician’s Hearing Care have over 75 years of combined experience assessing and treating hearing loss, tinnitus, and balance disorders.
We have established the reputation of having the region’s leading hearing care specialists, which provides you with greater confidence in knowing that your hearing loss is being assessed accurately and corrected using state-of-the-art equipment and practices as well as the most appropriate advanced hearing aid technology to meet your needs.
Regular Hearing Tests Lead to Better Hearing
In spite of the fact that the CDC reports hearing loss as the third most common health condition in the US, hearing loss is often left untreated until it’s too late because most people don’t know what they’re not hearing. A professional hearing test conducted by one of our Physician’s Hearing Care audiologists will accurately identify the type and severity of your hearing loss so we can help you hear better.
Hearing tests are so important to us that we strongly urge you to contact the Park West, Fort Sanders, Lenoir City, Tellico Village or Morristown clinic nearest you for a hearing test if it has been more than a year since your last hearing assessment, if family, friends and coworkers are urging you to get your hearing checked, or if you tend to turn your television volume up louder than usual.
Tinnitus Assessment and Management Solutions
Tinnitus is a common symptom which affects approximately 50 million adults in the United States. Here at Ear, Nose and Throat Consultants of East Tennessee, we offer a comprehensive Tinnitus Program designed to evaluate your individual needs.
Tinnitus is the perception of sound in the absence of actual external auditory sound, usually described as ringing, buzzing, clicking, whistling or bell sounds in the ears. Only about 20% of those experiencing tinnitus seek clinical intervention, because most individuals habituate to the condition, so it does not bother them.
Those bothered by tinnitus can get the relief they need through our Tinnitus Care Program, which begins with a medical evaluation with one of our ENT Physicians to ensure there is no underlying medical condition causing the it. Cases that have no underlying medical causes are turned over to one of our Tinnitus Practitioners Association certified Audiologists at either our Park West or Morristown office.
Audiology testing is conducted along with extensive history and tinnitus questionnaires. Treatment plans are individualized for each patient, depending on the severity of symptoms, and may include hearing aids and/or a combination strategy of counseling and sound therapy is used to help the patient learn to habituate their tinnitus.
Technologically Advanced Prescription Hearing Aids
The stigmas associated with prescription hearing aids continue to linger because most people still think of the outdated, bulky and frustrating devices their parents or grandparents wore. There is no longer a good reason to avoid getting the help you need for hearing loss thanks to today’s lighter, smaller, more powerful and highly user-friendly hearing aids.
When prescription hearing aids are the right treatment solution for your hearing loss, you can be at ease knowing that we partner with world-leading manufacturers like ReSound, Phonak, and Oticon in order to provide you with access to the most technologically advanced hearing aids in the East Tennessee region.
